Richard "RB" Botto "It seems a pathway to split the difference was found."
For the negotiating committee to have a tentative agreement, in my mind it must mean that there has been a considerable gain for the WGA. As far as I'm aware, the AMPTP were still holding out on the AI issue.
Excited they reached a tentative agreement, Richard "RB" Botto! Hope it's the deal WGA members have been fighting for (from a statement that the WGA made, it sounds like it is) and hope the SAG-AFTRA is next!
That's great news. Can't wait to see what the overall deal looks like. And I can't wait for AMA that tells us how it affects us aspiring writers Richard "RB" Botto
Double and triple thanks to those cosmic forces that keep an eye on writers! Here's to ratification and a script buying fervor to make up for the past months.
Congrats to the WGA negotiators! Here's hoping the terms are acceptable to the rank and file and that the writers maintain solidarity with their SAG-AFTRA brothers and sisters.
Geoff Hall the devil will be in the details. Have to believe significant gains were made. Word in the backrooms is that AI and residual language were tough to settle. But, again, we'll know soon enough where the pieces on the chess board ended up.
On AI Studios were certainly loathe to give that up in any meaningful way. Residuals especially in terms of streaming would seem to force the Studios to reveal numbers they haven't been.

Martin Reese once this is ratified, we'll schedule an AMA for sure. And a Writers' Room session as well.

All true Martin Reese. Progress was made on both counts. But let's see the language.
