Los Angeles Stage 32 In-Person Meet-up

Hey LA-based creators!  After last month's successful meet-up, we're so excited to see you all again! Let's come back together in person ahead of this month's "Introduce Yourself Weekend."  While this is a great opportunity to network and meet new people in the industry, this is also the best time to check in with community members you have already met and support each other. Take a moment to reach out with a direct message before you meet in person to start the conversation today! EDIT: We'll meet at The Phoenix on W. 3rd Street on Thursday, 5/18 at 6:00 pm. Join me and the Stage 32 Writer Liaison, Emily Jermusyk, for an evening of fun and conversation with your fellow directors, screenwriters, producers, actors, cinematographers, editors, and other industry creatives! This event will last until 9:00 pm and EDIT: The basketball game may make it a bit crowded.  Upon arrival, please check in, grab a nametag, and get an official photo! Then head TO THE PATIO to connect with your fellow creatives!  Don't wait to network! Direct Message attendees NOW to see if you want to continue the conversation in person! Also, in years past, we've been able to accept donations so our networking events can do twice the good of normal industry parties. This year, we would love to accept any canned or packaged foods to donate to the LA Food Bank! When you check in with Emily or me as you enter, we'll have a box to accept food donations: hot or cold cereals, dry and canned beans, canned soups, stews, peanut butter, tuna, and canned fruits and vegetables. Whatever you can give is greatly appreciated! And then you'll have your hands free to grab food, a drink or three, and get networking!  Finally, Be sure to post pictures of yourself at the event and use the hashtag #iamStage32 for a special drawing that evening. Don't forget to tag @stage32 @stage32scripts, @RBwalksintoabar, @emilyjwrites, and @k.osswrites on your social posts so everyone knows where the #Stage32 #PartyforGood is! If you're interested in volunteering for the event, please email me with VOLUNTEER in the subject line: K.Ross@stage32.com.

Los Angeles Script Shuffle

Script Shuffle

Hello fellow Stage 32 Community Members! It is with great pleasure that Fake ID Productions and Skiptown Playhouse invites you to our brand new event, SCRIPT SHUFFLE, hosted by the talented duo, Anthony Leyva and Jasmin Please. SCRIPT SHUFFLE is an exciting evening of live readings of scripts, designed specifically for writers, performers, directors, producers, and anyone else who is passionate about the art of storytelling. Here's how it works: writers submit ten pages of one or several of their works, and we select five pieces to be performed live on stage at Skiptown Playhouse in Los Angeles. Actors who want to perform will be cast on the spot and get to read these scripts, bringing the writers' words to life. It's an excellent exercise in cold-reading and a fantastic opportunity for writers to hear what works and what needs adjusting, while getting immediate feedback from a live audience! If you're interested in submitting your 10 pages, all you need to do is email us at productions.fakeid@gmail.com before March 15th at midnight. If you're an ACTOR, Please note that if you don't buy your ticket prior to the event, we cannot guarantee that you'll get to perform. However, we will always do our best to get as many people up on stage as possible! If you just want to attend, to support these artists - you are very welcome also :) You can purchase your ticket here on eventbrite, or you can buy one at the door. Don't miss out on this amazing opportunity to showcase your talent, network with other creatives, and celebrate the art of storytelling. We look forward to seeing you at SCRIPT SHUFFLE!
