The Black Voices in TV and Film panel and networking mixer is a highly anticipated event that brings together industry professionals and enthusiasts to discuss the importance of representation in media. The panel features influential Black voices in the entertainment industry, who share their experiences and insights on breaking into the industry, navigating challenges, and overcoming barriers. Attendees are able to engage in thought-provoking discussions about the state of diversity in TV and film, and the ways in which Black voices are shaping the narrative. The panelists also highlight the importance of amplifying Black voices and stories on screen, as well as the need for increased diversity both in front of and behind the camera. Following the panel discussion, attendees have the opportunity to network with industry professionals and peers, making valuable connections and forging new relationships. The event provides a platform for all creatives to come together, share their work, and support one another in pushing for greater representation and inclusivity in the entertainment industry. Overall, the Black Voices in TV and Film panel and networking mixer is a successful and empowering event that celebrates the contributions of Black artists and professionals in the industry, while also inspiring future generations to continue pushing for greater diversity and visibility in media.

Winter Film Awards is dedicated to showcasing the amazing diversity of voices in indie film and our 2024 lineup is 58% made by women and half by or about people of color. Filmmakers come from 23 countries and 41% of our films were made in the New York City area.
